Synopsis: It's 1959 and Philippe, Gustave and Henri, three veterans from the Great War, dream their days away at the old soldiers' home by planning escapes and wild adventures. Will they manage to outwit the sinister Sister Madeleine and escape via the young ladies college in the local village or will their beloved terrace below the poplars prove to be the final destination of the three heroes? Maybe the stone canine that adorns their captive environment knows the true answer. Tom Stoppard's adaptation of this beautifully crafted comedy by Gerald Sibleyras is clever, witty and delightfully charming.

“Tom Stoppard's contribution is of course his magnificent wit and choice of scintillating language. − Curtain Up Review
